According to Autoblog, the Owl even surpassed the Roadster in a separate run, recording a 0-62 mph time of 1.87 seconds. Using V-Box data provided by Aspark, Motor Trend calculated that the Owl could reach 62 mph in 1.6 seconds when accounting for a one-foot rollout. In similar conditions, the Tesla Roadster completed the sprint in 2.28 seconds.
However, there are a few caveats. As Autoblog points out, the video lacks on-screen speedometers or timers to validate Aspark’s claim. Additionally, the prototype was running on slick tires, but Aspark insists that the road-legal version will still achieve 0-62 mph in under two seconds. The test, conducted in a parking lot behind a warehouse, required the driver to reach 60 mph and bring the car back to a standstill in a surprisingly short distance—a testament to the car’s impressive capabilities.
